Getting hurt at work can be one of the most stressful things that can happen to you. Not only do you have to worry about your physical health and recovering from your injury, but you have to worry about compensation and liability, how your insurance is handling the injury in the first place, how you’re going to pay your bills while you are unable to work, and how you are going to deal with all of these things altogether.
Suffering an injury at work is not uncommon. In just one year in Canada, one in 68 workers were hurt on the job and got worker’s compensation as a result. The construction industry sees the highest number of instances of injury on the job, but people can suffer from an illness at any almost any type of job enough to be unable to work and need to file short term disability claims.
